Huawei Register OS Harmony Trademark

Huawei reportedly registered trademark documents to the European Union Intellectual Property Office. This step became the attempt by Huawei to register the name Harmony as an operating system for mobile devices and computers.

This trademark document is registered on 12 July 2019, and is currently reported on the GSM Arena, in the process of inspection. Harmony joined ARK as the moniker that Huawei would probably use in the global marketplace for his operating system.

Believed to be the HongMeng OS which is expected to be a name for a particular market, this operating system has been developed for several years, according to a report circulating at least 2015 years ago.

The operating system then became the community's talks due to a heated trade war between the United States (US) and China, culminated in the prohibition of using technology by the US company on Huawei devices.

The technology that goes on the Prohibition list is Android and Windows. These restrictions have been loosening in some aspects, but did not stop Huawei's move in developing the operating system.

Rumors circulated that this operating system would be available to consumers in the beginning of the upcoming fall, and has been used by about one million units of testing. Meanwhile, Huawei CEO claimed that HongMeng OS has a faster performance when compared to Android.

In addition, the Chinese company CEO also claimed that HongMeng OS can be used by various devices, from routers to data centers, although the claims will be proven in the future.

Previously, Huawei announced a Digital inclusion campaign to support the equality of digital service access. This campaign is one of the four strategies that Huawei has carried, in the aspect of sustainability.

These four strategies are digital inclusion, security and trust, environmental protection, and a healthy and harmonious ecosystem. This strategy is also a support to the PPB campaign titled Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Huawei will also host the annual Developer Conference event on August 9th, and is rumored to announce the latest Android-based user interface of its work, EMUI 10.

This event was also reported to be a Huawei medium to announce its operating system, HongMeng, at the event.
