Instagram will then ask users to enter some personal information, such as the email address and telephone number associated with their Instagram account, or the email address or telephone number they use when registering Instagram.

After that, Instagram will send a 6-digit code to the contact information that the user chooses, allowing them to take back access to their account. When they have successfully accessed their account, Instagram will take some additional effort to ensure that hackers cannot use the code sent to the user's email address or telephone number to access accounts from different devices.

Through testing this feature, users can restore their account even though the account information, such as the account name or contact information associated with the user account, has been changed by hackers. Instagram will continue to improve this feature and in the next few months, Instagram hopes to make it easier for users to restore accounts directly in the application, without the help of the Instagram community operational team.
