Full Nintendo Switch Lite specifications

Nintendo Switch Lite was officially introduced. As the name implies, this console is a more affordable variant of the first generation Switch that Nintendo had introduced several years ago.

Since this variant is more affordable, Nintendo made several modifications. One of them as quoted from Polygon on Wednesday (07/11/2019), the Nintendo Switch Lite is a handheld or portable console.

Therefore, this console cannot be connected to a TV or has a tablet mode such as a regular switch. Not only that, the available Joy-Con cannot be removed and unites with the body.

Nintendo Switch Lite has a 5.5-inch touch screen, slightly smaller than the usual 6.2-inch version. However, the screen resolution is still the same at 720 pixels.

The weight of this portable console is also 31 percent lighter than the first generation Switch, which is around 0.2 kg. The ability of the battery in Switch Lite is slightly improved compared to the previous variant.

Nintendo calls this console can play the entire Switch game that supports handheld mode. Therefore, Switch Lite users who try to buy digital games but don't support handheld mode will be automatically warned.

There are three color variants available for Nintendo Switch Lite, namely yellow, gray, and turquoise. In addition, there are also other models with the theme of Pokemon Sword and Shield.

The plan, Nintendo Switch Lite will be priced at USD 199 or around September 20 2019. While the Pokemon theme model will be available on November 8, 2019.

Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite Cross Ability
Questioning cross-device capabilities, Nintendo calls players can access data stored between Switch and Switch Lite. In other words, the game stored on the Switch can be played on Switch Lite, and vice versa.

This information was confirmed directly by President Nintendo America, Doug Bowser. "Yes, we will have the ability to move (data) between devices, your playing experience. There will be others coming, but that's the plan," he said.

However, Bowser did not disclose further about this plan. According to him, Nintendo will announce information about this capability.
