Quoted from The Verge on Wednesday (07/11/2019), Switch Lite is designed as a handheld or portable console. In other words, this console cannot be connected to a TV and the Joy-Con controller is installed directly.
"These two systems (Switch and Switch Lite) will support each other and are equally present in the market," said President of Nintendo America, Doug Bowser.
Although present as a more affordable console, Nintendo continues to make a number of improvements. Some of them are lighter weight and the presence of Joy-Con is stronger because it is installed directly on the Switch.
Nintendo also said, there was an increase in the capacity of the battery, although it was not explained further about it. There is a possibility that this happens because of the use of a more power efficient chip.
There are three color variants introduced for the Nintendo Switch Lite, namely yellow, gray, and turqoise. This console has a 5.5-inch touch screen, different from the regular version which measures 6.2 inches.
The Nintendo will release Switch Lite on September 20, 2019 at a price of USD 199. The plan, there will also be a Pokemon Switch Lite variant that was introduced on November 8, 2019.
Nintendo Switch Becomes the Best Selling Console in the US
Please note, the Nintendo hybrid console, Switch, is lucky on the market. This is evidenced by the selling of Nintendo Switch worldwide.
It is known, Nintendo has sold 19.67 million Switch console units as of June 30, 2018. The Japanese company also predicts that it will still sell 20 million console units as of April 2018 until March 2019.
With so many consoles being sold, market research firm NPD Group also claims the performance of Nintendo Switch sales in the United States (US) is very bright.
Reported by Ubergizmo on Thursday (12/20/2018), the Nintendo Switch was claimed to be one of the best-selling consoles in Uncle Sam's country, with sales that were so aggressive.
Claimed to be the best-selling of all time
Compared to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Nintendo consoles are still victorious in the realm of the game, and the newest console, Switch, is claimed to have been one of the most successful of all time.
Reported by Geekwire, last April, Nintendo managed to record sales of USD 9.7 billion at the end of its fiscal year at the end of March 2018.
This figure indicates an increase in sales of 105 percent from last year. As of April, the Nintendo Switch has sold 17 million units since its release on March 3, 2017.
In the United States (US), this console sold nearly five million units in the first 10 months of its launch.
The achievement defeated the Nintendo Wii which only sold four million units at the same time period. For next year, Nintendo targets Switch sales of 20 million units.
